About KeyboardTest.dev
KeyboardTest.dev helps you check a new keyboard, investigate a key that feels unreliable, or see how your keyboard handles several keys at once. Open the site and start pressing keys. No account or installation is required.
One place to check your keyboard
The tester highlights pressed and tested keys, tracks simultaneous key presses, flags possible key chatter, and shows event timing and key hold duration. A typing test measures your speed and accuracy, and you can download a JSON report of your results.
Choose a full-size, tenkeyless or compact layout and Windows or Mac key labels. Multiple interface languages, light and dark themes, and optional key sounds help you test comfortably.
Your tests stay on your device
Keyboard events and typing results are processed in your browser. The app does not upload them to a server. Preferences are saved locally, and supported browsers can cache the app for offline use after an online visit. Read our Privacy Policy for details.
Understand the results
A browser can only show events delivered by your operating system. Some system shortcuts and hardware-only keys, such as Fn, may not reach the page. Timing depends on your browser, operating system and device load; a possible chatter warning is a clue to investigate, rather than a confirmed hardware fault.
